About the Author
A.G. Riddle spent ten years starting internet companies before retiring to pursue his true passion: writing fiction.
His debut novel, The Atlantis Gene, is the first book in The Origin Mystery, the trilogy that has sold over two million copies in the US, has been translated into 18 languages, and is in development to be a major motion picture.
His recently released fourth novel, Departure, follows the survivors of a flight that takes off in the present and crash-lands in a changed world. HarperCollins published Departure in hardcover in the fall of 2015, and 20th Century Fox is developing the novel for a feature film.
Riddle grew up in a small town in North Carolina (Boiling Springs) and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. During his sophomore year of college, he started his first company with a childhood friend. He currently lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife, who endures his various idiosyncrasies in return for being the first to read his new novels. They welcomed their first child, a daughter, on September 2, 2016.

Wonderful Sequel!

I loved the story from the first book, but I struggled with the writing style and character development. This sequel expands the original story, ties up some loose ends, and the best surprise for me was how much better the character development was. The book can get fairly technical sometimes, but I like that kind of science fiction. Some of the tangents can get annoying, and the extent of the fantastical twists gets fairly complex. Ultimately, I was able to follow along enough to really dig the technical stuff and care about the characters. The story touches on so many facets of the human experience: science, religion, history, evolution, biology, physics, good vs. evil. I highly recommend reading the first book, and jumping right into this one.
Just like the first one, I borrowed the book from the Kindle Lending library, and then decided to support the author and buy a copy after the fact. Great stuff, keep it coming!

The series contnues to improve.

The Atlantis series is so intriguing because its central idea, managed evolution of the human race over a hundred thousand years continuing into the present, convincingly seems to have more than a kernel of truth to it. While the writing of the present-day plot elements proceeds at a near chaotic pace, The Atlantis Plague is an improvement over the first book in the series. There had been a break in style between the action portion and the diary-like reminiscences of the discoverer of the atlantean ship, giving the impression of two different writers. In this book, the slower paced sections detailing the coincidence of plagues and evolutionary leaps by mankind are the most interesting parts, and the dizzyingly fast paced action parts seem to simply support that central idea. In other words, the unfolding revelation of mankind's real evolutionary past and future is so original and convincingly presented that the reader is compelled forward through the entire series.

Great Sci-Fi with a creative and good storyline. It will make a good movie!

I picked up,all three of A.G. Riddle's Origin series books and have read two and am working on the third. The first in the series, The Atlantis Plague, was a very unique story with seemingly a good deal of research before it was written. It is nice to see a return of traditional Sci-Fi novels and stories (and a deviation away from Sci-Fi Fantasy).
This novel was well,crafted taking you through unpredicted twists and turns, as the riddle (no pun intended) is disclosed chapter by chapter. I do not like to recite the highlights in book plots feeling it ruins a book when someone has pre-disclosed the story line. So I will not. I would highly recommend the book though.
It is also disclosed that a movie will be made based on the book and I think if captured right, it will be a good one.
